Shaping the Future: Why We Are Proud to Launch the Voice of the Educator Survey 2026
At The Fraser Foundation, our core mission has always been simple yet profound: uplifting educators to transform futures. We believe that the first five years of a child’s life are crucial, and the passionate individuals who teach, nurture, and care for our youngest members of the community are the backbone of our society.
But for too long, major decisions about the Early Childhood Education and Care (ECEC) sector have been made without a crucial ingredient — the unvarnished, direct perspective of the educators working on the ground day in and day out.
That is why we are incredibly proud to officially launch Australia’s biggest listening project of its kind: the Voice of the Educator Survey 2026.
What is the voice of the educator survey?
Delivered in proud partnership with independent research agency McCrindle, the Australian Childcare Alliance (ACA), and Child Care Super, this national initiative is designed to capture a comprehensive, unfiltered snapshot of the early learning profession across Australia.
We want to move past the generic headlines and dive deep into the lived experiences, daily pressures, and triumphs of the ECEC workforce.
"Educators are at the heart of early learning, but they are not always the ones being asked what needs to change. This survey is about listening properly. We want to understand what is working, what is placing pressure on educators, and what they believe is needed to better support the profession." — Jae Fraser, Founder of The Fraser Foundation
Why your voice matters right now
Whether you are an early childhood teacher, educator, assistant, centre director, or support staff member, this survey is for you. By participating, you are helping us to:
Break Through the Noise: Tell us what you love about the job, what is wearing thin, and what you wish the broader public truly understood about what you do.
Influence Real Policy: The collective data gathered will be compiled into a visual report and published publicly later this year. These evidence-based insights will be used directly to guide national policy, advocacy efforts, and sector-wide workforce support.
Shift the Narrative: Beyond addressing systemic pressures, this project aims to celebrate the incredible, positive impact early childhood educators have on communities every single day.
100% Confidential. 100% Anonymous.
We know how busy you are, which is why the survey is designed to take just 10 to 15 minutes to complete. You can do it on your break or from the comfort of your couch.
Most importantly, it is completely confidential. This is your safe space to share the things you might not say at a standard staff meeting.
A Small Thank You for Your Time
To show our appreciation for your time and insights, completing the survey gives you the optional opportunity to enter a draw to win one of four $1,000 gift vouchers. (terms and conditions apply).
How to get involved
If we want to build a stronger, more recognised, and highly supported early childhood sector, we have to do it together. Your story has power, and your impact is immeasurable.
Let’s shape the future of early education in Australia, built entirely on what youhave to say.
