How did you hear about the Fraser Foundation?

Through facebook, ECEC group

How does it feel to receive a Fraser Foundation scholarship?

It is amazing, I am so grateful for the support and provided me the confidence to continue studying.

What inspired you to become an early childhood teacher?

I have been working in ECEC for 5 years and I am so passionate about supporting children's best start in life by being a positive influence on their learning, development and wellbeing. I wanted to become an ECT to advance myself in this career and extend my knowledge.

What are the best and most challenging parts of working with young children?

I love being able to watch the children "wow" moments and slow down and embrace their interest in their learning. I love being able to work in the preschool age and making great connections with the children and their families. I am passionate about supporting children who are neurodivergent and require additional support, this is a challenging but very rewarding aspect.

What difference has the Fraser Foundation made to you?

The Fraser Foundation has made a meaningful difference to me by giving me the opportunity to continue developing my knowledge, skills and confidence in my chosen career. Their support has encouraged me to continue my journey of lifelong learning and has allowed me to focus on becoming the best educator I can be. Knowing that others believe in my goals has been incredibly encouraging and has motivated me to keep working towards my future in early childhood education.

I find the government regulations and funding a challenging aspect to meet all the requirements. I have found it challenging to balance work, study and life but have been able to maintain a manageable balance.
