Meet Sasha.

Watching a child grow because of something you helped put in place is one of the most rewarding feelings”

What are you studying?

I’m currently studying my Graduate Diploma Degree, bringing me closer to my goal of becoming an Early Childhood Teacher.

How did you hear about the Fraser Foundation?

After five years with Little Scholars Burleigh, I’ve heard about the Fraser Foundation many times - through colleagues, our community, and even on social media.

How does it feel to be the recipient of a Fraser Foundation scholarship?

I feel incredibly grateful. Being supported by the Fraser Foundation, especially as part of the Little Scholars community, makes this achievement feel even more meaningful to me.

What inspired you to pursue a career as an Early Childhood Teacher (ECT)?

Becoming an ECT has always been a dream of mine. This year, I was finally given the opportunity to pursue it, and it’s reminded me why I’m so passionate about supporting children’s early learning.

What is the best and most challenging part of working with young children?

One of the biggest challenges is also one of the greatest joys: every child is completely unique. Meeting their individual needs, understanding how they learn, and creating approaches that help them thrive can be complex - but it’s incredibly fulfilling. Watching a child grow because of something you helped put in place is one of the most rewarding feelings. Additionally, building positive and trusting relationships with the children is another aspect of my work that I deeply value.
